The Power of a Vision Board

Posted on October 25, 2023December 16, 2023 by Abigailzrobinson

Picture attempting to tidy your home when you’ve never seen a spotless clean home or even a clean time before. I can imagine you’d be at a loss about where exactly to begin. The final look wouldn’t even be clear in your mind. You’d be shifting items around clueless about the proper placement. How can you tidy up when all you can reference is clutter? You wouldn’t even recognize cleanliness if you haven’t seen it before.

It’s no secret that a crucial element of achieving success is having a clear idea of what you want to attain. You have to see it first! This is where a vision board becomes handy and essential. Included here I will be presenting seven reasons why creating a vision board holds significant importance. Number 5 is my favorite!

1. The Visual – Vision boards are a physical manifestation of your goal and there is science to prove it. Did you know looking at images on a vision board prompts the brain to grasp things that otherwise go unnoticed. The brain prioritizes images than written words.

 2. Promotes Positive Thinking – When creating your vision board you can add images, words, phrases, or even quotes that resonate positively with you. They allow you to be optimistic. This will help align your subconscious mind with your goals.

3. Motivation – I don’t know about you but seeing my vision board really large on our bedroom wall plays as a constant motivator.  In some weird way I feel as if it is my accountability partner.  It wakes me up, encourages me, and it’s constantly reminding me of what I am working towards.  It’s screaming at me to keep my eyes on the prize.

 4.  Empower Creativity – What a fun way to tap into your creative side. This is definitely a creative process. Selecting and organizing images with your own personal touches opens up the doors of imagination.

5.  Creating Focus – This one is my favorite! It can be so difficult to stay focus in the rush of daily life. We all for the most part have goals but we can easily become side tracked. A vision board can overcome this. Having one can serve as a focal point, continually directing your attention towards your aspirations. For example, if one of your goals is to have 25K in your savings, I could imagine seeing that everyday would control ones crazy shopping addiction. Being focused can place what’s important to you in better perspective.

All in all, the Bible says in Proverbs 29:18

“Where there is no vision, the people perish

most people stop right there without reading the rest of the verse.

Verse continued…

But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

So what does this mean? I’ll explain quickly.  Without wisdom there is no understanding. You can not truly live the life God has for you without wisdom.  Once you create the vision board, make sure it aligns with His law.  For the only way to see it clear and prosper is to make sure Jesus is in it! Seek Him for guidance in prayer and the vision will be revealed to you.
